The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the last date for registration for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026 to March 11, 2026. The decision comes after requests from candidates seeking additional time to complete their applications for India’s largest undergraduate medical entrance examination.
The extension provides relief to thousands of aspirants preparing for admission to MBBS, BDS and other medical courses across the country.
Registration Window Extended
According to the NTA, candidates who have not yet applied for NEET-UG 2026 can now submit their application forms until 11 March 2026 through the official portal.
The extension is expected to help students facing technical issues, documentation delays, or last-minute corrections in their applications.
Correction Window Open from March 10–12
Along with the extension, the agency has also opened a correction window from March 10 to March 12, 2026.
During this period, candidates can edit specific details in their application forms, such as:
- Personal information
- Uploaded documents
- Choice of exam city
- Academic details
However, certain fields may remain non-editable, depending on NTA guidelines.
Major Exam for Medical Admissions
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) is the single national-level entrance examination for undergraduate medical and dental programmes in India. It is conducted annually by the National Testing Agency and is mandatory for admissions to government and private medical colleges.
