Exam Duration Increased to 195 Minutes
Ahead of the NEET UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for 21 June, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced several candidate-friendly measures aimed at improving the examination experience while maintaining strict security standards. The revised examination window will now be 195 minutes, with the test scheduled from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM.
Additional Time to Ease Administrative Formalities
The extra 15 minutes have been introduced to accommodate essential invigilation and administrative procedures, including attendance verification and other mandatory formalities. According to the NTA, this change is intended to ensure that such processes do not reduce the effective time available for candidates to attempt the examination.
More Rough-Work Pages for Candidates
To assist students with calculations and note-making, the NTA will provide additional rough-work pages in the question booklet. The number of rough-work pages has been increased from two to four, giving candidates more space for problem-solving during the examination.
Revised Booklet Design for Better Accessibility
The agency has also modified the layout of the question booklet by placing rough-work pages at both the beginning and the end of the booklet. The revised arrangement is expected to make the booklet more convenient to use, including for left-handed candidates.
Focus on a Fair and Secure Examination
The NTA stated that these measures are designed to create a more candidate-friendly testing environment while preserving the integrity and security of the examination process. The changes reflect the agency’s effort to improve the overall experience for the lakhs of medical aspirants appearing for the re-examination.
