Eligible students seeking admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) can submit their applications online until September 30, 2026.
The admissions will be based on the Lateral Entry Selection Test (LEST) 2027, which is scheduled to be conducted on April 10, 2027.

JNVST Class 9 Lateral Entry 2027
Students seeking admission to Class 9 must satisfy the eligibility conditions specified by NVS. Candidates are generally required to be studying in Class 8 during the 2026–27 academic session in a government-recognised school.
Admission is offered through a selection test and is subject to the availability of vacant seats in the concerned Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. Candidates must also meet the district and other eligibility requirements specified in the official notification.
JNV Class 11 Lateral Entry 2027
For Class 11 admission, students currently studying in Class 10 can apply through the Lateral Entry Selection Test.
NVS has stated that applicants must meet the prescribed academic, age, nationality and district-related conditions. For consideration under the district-level merit process, the student’s school and residence requirements must satisfy the conditions specified by NVS.
Class 11 admissions are made against vacant seats available in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas.
