The 37th convocation of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) was held on February 20, 2024, at Sri Puttanna Chetty Town Hall in Bengaluru. The event celebrated the achievements of 3,670 graduates who successfully completed their respective programs. Among them, six exceptional students were awarded gold medals for their outstanding academic performance.
The gold medal recipients from the Regional Centre, Bangalore, included Subhayan Ghosh for M.Sc in Information Security (MSCIS), Divya Raghavan for Master of Education (MAEDU), Arpana Patwardhan for Master of Education (MAEDU), Bharat Kumar for Master of Public Administration (MPA), Karthik for B.A in Tourism Studies, and Sweta Kumari for B.A. Honours in Hindi (BAHDH).
The Vice-President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, graced the convocation as the Chief Guest, while Prof. Lingaraja Gandhi, Vice Chancellor of Bangalore City University, delivered the convocation address. Prof. Gandhi congratulated the graduates and emphasized the importance of dedication, discipline, and passion in their future endeavors. He also lauded IGNOU’s efforts in providing higher education to all sections of society at an affordable cost.
The convocation highlighted the significant contributions of IGNOU in promoting higher education and its commitment to the holistic development of students through the adoption of NEP 2020. The event was a proud moment for the graduates, their families, and the university, marking a milestone in their academic journey.
