  • Telangana: Intermediate colleges will remain closed until January 16, 2025, for Makar Sankranti.

Reason for Extension

The decision to extend winter breaks is primarily due to the extreme cold wave and dense fog, which pose significant risks to students’ health and safety. The authorities aim to ensure that students are not exposed to harsh weather conditions during their commute to and from school.

Statements from Officials

Officials have emphasized the importance of prioritizing student safety and well-being during this period. They have advised parents to keep their children at home and utilize online classes where possible to continue education without risking exposure to the cold.

Additional Measures

In some regions, schools have shifted to online classes to ensure that students’ education continues uninterrupted during the extended break. Teachers and school staff are required to report to work to facilitate these online sessions.

These measures are expected to provide relief to students and parents during the cold wave, ensuring that education continues safely and effectively.
