Due to the severe cold wave sweeping across the state, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced a 15-day winter vacation for all primary schools. Starting from December 31, 2024, schools will remain closed until January 14, 2025. Classes will resume on January 15, 2025.
The decision comes in response to the extreme cold conditions, with temperatures expected to drop significantly and dense fog forecasted for the region. The Basic Education Department has also instructed teachers to assign homework to students to ensure continuity in their studies during the break2.
This break will provide students with a much-needed respite from the harsh winter weather and allow them to spend time with their families during the holiday season
