New Delhi, October 2, 2025 – The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the results of the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) Examination (II), 2025. This move opens the door for aspiring defence personnel to proceed to the next selection phase. UPSC released the written exam results in PDF format, listing the roll numbers of candidates who qualified for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interviews.
The NDA and NA (II) 2025 written examination took place across the country on September 14, 2025. This prestigious exam opens the gateway for young candidates who aim to join the Indian Armed Forces through the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the NDA, as well as the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy (INA). Candidates faced two papers: Mathematics and General Ability Test (GAT), totaling 900 marks for the written stage.
This year’s recruitment drive targets 406 vacancies, distributed as follows: 208 in the Army (including 10 seats reserved for female candidates), 42 in the Navy (including 6 for females), and the rest in the Air Force wing. Successful candidates will receive commissions for the 156th course of NDA and the 118th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC), both starting on July 2, 2026.
UPSC declared the results on October 1, 2025, just weeks after the exam. This timing allows qualified candidates to prepare promptly for the next stages. The merit list appears only in PDF format on the official UPSC website, featuring the roll numbers of shortlisted aspirants. UPSC has not disclosed the exact number of qualified candidates in the initial announcement, but it reflects the exam’s competitive nature, where thousands compete annually for these limited seats.
UPSC will release cut-off marks and detailed scorecards later on the portal after completing the SSB interviews and medical examinations.
Candidates can access the results by following these simple steps:
Candidates should take a printout of the result for future reference, as they will need it during the SSB registration process.
Shortlisted candidates must now prepare for the SSB interviews, a rigorous five-day evaluation process that assesses leadership potential, psychological aptitude, and physical fitness. To move forward:
The final merit list will combine performance in the written exam (900 marks) and SSB interview (900 marks), totaling 1,800 marks. Only medically fit candidates will secure spots in the academies.
