UP Board Inter Practical Exam 2025 Postponed Due to Clash with JEE Main

Prayagraj, January 19, 2025 – The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has announced the postponement of the UP Board Inter Practical Exam 2025. The decision to delay the exam was made to avoid a scheduling conflict with the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025, which is set to take place from January 22 to 311.

Revised Schedule

The practical exams will now be conducted in two phases:

First Phase: February 1 to 8, 2025, in Aligarh, Meerut, Moradabad, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Varanasi, and Gorakhpur divisions.

Second Phase: February 9 to 16, 2025, in Agra, Saharanpur, Bareilly, Lucknow, Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Devipatan, and Basti divisions.

Reason for Postponement

The initial schedule had the practical exams starting from January 23, 2025, but due to the overlap with JEE Main, the board decided to reschedule to ensure that students could focus on both exams without any conflicts.

Measures for Transparency

To ensure transparency and fairness in the evaluation process, the board has introduced several new measures. Examiners will now be required to upload student marks directly to a dedicated mobile app at the examination center1. This app will only function within a 200-meter radius of the exam center. Additionally, examiners must take a selfie with the students and upload it to the app1. School principals will be responsible for monitoring and recording the examination process.

Student Reactions

Students have expressed mixed feelings about the postponement. While some are relieved to have more time to prepare, others are concerned about the extended exam schedule and its impact on their study plans.

Conclusion

The UPMSP has taken this step to ensure that students can perform to the best of their abilities in both the UP Board Inter Practical Exam and the JEE Main. The board is committed to maintaining the integrity and fairness of the examination process.
