The Kerala government has announced the launch of the “Study in Kerala” initiative, aiming to position the state as a global hub for higher education. The initiative will be complemented by the introduction of Centres for Skill Development Courses and Career Planning in all higher education institutions. These centres will align with the recently implemented Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP), ensuring that students receive comprehensive education and skill development.
Governor Arlekar emphasized that the government’s approach to higher education focuses on inclusivity and quality. The key pillars of this vision include skill development, improved connectivity between educational institutions and industries, and enabling students to become entrepreneurs1. The government is also revising curricula to meet contemporary needs, with the overarching goal of transforming Kerala into a knowledge society within the shortest possible time.
