Schools to Close in Several States for Ram Mandir Opening

In anticipation of the historic Ram Mandir ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony in Ayodhya, several states will announce school closures to allow students to witness the event. The ceremony is set to take place on January 22, 2024, and the following states will declare holidays:

  • Uttar Pradesh: All educational institutions will be closed for the day.
  • Haryana: Schools, colleges, and universities will be closed until 2:30 PM.
  • Chhattisgarh: All state-run educational institutions will observe a holiday.
  • Goa: Schools will be closed for the entire day.
  • Maharashtra: A public holiday will be declared.
  • Assam: Educational institutions will be closed until 2:30 PM.
  • Tripura: A half-day holiday will be observed.
  • Madhya Pradesh: Schools will be closed for the day.
  • Rajasthan: A half-day holiday will be announced.
  • Delhi: Schools will be closed until 2:30 PM.
  • Gujarat: A half-day holiday will be declared.

Additionally, Visva-Bharati University in Bolpur-Santiniketan, West Bengal, will observe a half-day holiday.

The closures will allow students to participate in the celebrations and witness the consecration of the Ram Mandir, a significant event in India’s cultural and spiritual history.
