In response to the severe cold wave and dense fog, the District Magistrate of Gautam Buddha Nagar, Manish Kumar Verma, has ordered the closure of all schools in Noida for Classes 1 to 8 until further notice. The decision, effective from January 2, 2025, aims to ensure the safety and well-being of students amid the extreme weather conditions.
The temperature in Noida has dropped significantly, with the minimum temperature hovering around 8°C. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted continued cold wave conditions and fog over the next few days2.
District Basic Education Officer Rahul Panwar has issued a letter to all school principals, instructing them to comply with the order. Schools across all boards, including state, CBSE, and ICSE, are affected by this directive.
Authorities have emphasized that any schools found violating the order will face strict action. The administration is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as necessary.
