New Delhi, August 20, 2025 – The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has officially announced the results for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2025, a pivotal milestone for medical graduates aspiring to pursue postgraduate courses such as MD, MS, and PG Diploma programs across India. The results, released on August 19, 2025, are now available on the official NBEMS websites, natboard.edu.in and nbe.edu.in, with individual scorecards set to be accessible from August 29, 2025.
The NEET PG 2025 examination, conducted on August 3, 2025, in a single shift from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, saw over 2.42 lakh candidates appearing across 301 cities and 1,052 test centers nationwide. The computer-based exam comprised 200 multiple-choice questions, each carrying four marks, with a 25% negative marking for incorrect answers. This year, pursuant to a Supreme Court directive dated May 30, 2025, the exam was held in a single shift, eliminating the need for score normalization, as confirmed by NBEMS.
Candidates can access their results by following these steps:
NBEMS has advised candidates to verify all details, including roll numbers, and report any discrepancies to the authorities immediately via the NBEMS communication portal (exam.natboard.edu.in) or by calling 011-45593000. Individual scorecards, available from August 29, 2025, will remain accessible for download for six months.
Qualified candidates are now eligible to participate in the counseling process, coordinated by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats and by state authorities for the remaining 50% state quota seats. The counseling schedule is expected to be announced soon on the official MCC website (mcc.nic.in). Candidates must keep their academic documents, including MBBS aggregate marks or FMGE scores, ready for verification, as discrepancies may lead to cancellation of candidature.
The NEET PG 2025 merit list for All India Quota seats will be declared separately, while state quota merit lists will be generated by states and Union Territories based on their respective eligibility criteria and reservation policies. The exam’s tie-breaking criteria prioritize candidates with higher correct responses, fewer incorrect responses, older age, and higher MBBS aggregate marks.
NBEMS ensured a secure and fair examination process, deploying over 2,200 faculty members from medical colleges to monitor the test. The board has reiterated that no re-evaluation, re-checking, or re-totaling of responses will be permitted. Additionally, candidates found using unfair means face cancellation of their results and potential penal action.
The NEET PG 2025 exam was noted for its easy-to-moderate difficulty level, potentially leading to slightly higher cut-offs compared to previous years. With 74,306 postgraduate medical seats available across India, the results mark a critical step for candidates vying for competitive specializations like dermatology, radiology, and general medicine. The Supreme Court’s ruling against domicile-based reservations for state quota seats emphasizes merit-based admissions, aligning with the Right to Equality under Article 14 of the Constitution.
For the latest updates on counseling and admission procedures, candidates are advised to regularly check the official NBEMS and MCC websites. The release of NEET PG 2025 results paves the way for thousands of medical graduates to advance their careers and contribute to India’s healthcare landscape.
