National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA)

The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Council of Architecture (COA) for admission to B.Arch (Bachelor of Architecture) and B.Planning programs in India.

Purpose

NATA assesses candidates’ aptitude for architecture through various tests that evaluate their drawing skills, imagination, and aesthetic sensitivity.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject or a 10+3 diploma exam with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.
  • Age Requirement: Candidates must have been born on or after October 01, 1999.

Exam Pattern

  • Duration: The exam lasts for 3 hours.
  • Mode: It is conducted in both online and offline (pen and paper-based) modes.
  • Sections: The exam includes sections on Freehand Drawing, Geometrical Drawing, Three-Dimensional Perception, Imagination and Aesthetic Sensitivity, and Architectural Awareness.

Exam Schedule

  • Session 1:
    • Registration: 1st week of March 2025
    • Exam Date: 1st week of April 2025
    • Result Declaration: May 2025
  • Session 2:
    • Registration: 1st week of March 2025
    • Exam Date: 4th week of May 2025
    • Result Declaration: June 2025
  • Session 3:
    • Registration: 2nd week of March 2025
    • Exam Date: 3rd week of July 2025
    • Result Declaration: 4th week of July 2025

Application Process

  1. Online Registration: Candidates need to register online on the official NATA website.
  2. Submission: Submit the filled application form along with the required documents and pay the application fee.
  3. Admit Card: Download the admit card after it is released.

Application Fee

The application fee is INR 2000 for all candidates.

Preparation Tips

  1. Practice Drawing: Regularly practice freehand and geometrical drawing.
  2. Study Architectural Concepts: Familiarize yourself with architectural principles and design concepts.
  3. Mock Tests: Take regular mock tests to get used to the exam pattern and time management.
