MP Board Class 5 & 8 Examinations Begin Across Madhya Pradesh

The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) has commenced the Class 5 and Class 8 board examinations from 20 February 2026. Lakhs of students across government and private schools in Madhya Pradesh are appearing for these exams, which are being conducted smoothly at designated centres statewide.

These examinations are being supervised by the Rajya Shiksha Kendra, ensuring uniformity and transparency in the evaluation process.

Exam Schedule and Duration

According to the official timetable:

  • Class 5 examinations will be conducted from 20 February to 26 February 2026.
  • Class 8 examinations will continue until 28 February 2026.
  • All papers are held in a single morning shift, beginning at 9:00 AM.

The timetable was released in advance to allow students adequate preparation time for each subject.

Large-Scale Participation Across the State

This year, the Class 5 and 8 board exams are witnessing participation from several lakh students studying in government, aided, and private schools. Examination centres have been set up in both urban and rural regions to accommodate candidates and ensure easy access.

Education officials reported that necessary arrangements, including seating plans and invigilation teams, were completed well before the first exam day.

Strict Guidelines for Students and Centres

To maintain discipline and fairness, students have been instructed to follow strict exam-day guidelines:

  • Candidates must carry their admit cards and reach the centre at least 30 minutes before reporting time.
  • Use of mobile phones, smart watches, and electronic devices is strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.
  • Only essential stationery items are allowed.
  • Students must remain seated until answer sheets are collected by invigilators.

Special monitoring teams have been deployed to prevent malpractice and ensure smooth conduct.

Focus on Foundational Learning Assessment

The Class 5 and 8 examinations play an important role in assessing students’ learning outcomes at the primary and upper-primary levels. The results will help education authorities identify academic gaps and improve teaching strategies in schools across the state.

Officials stated that these exams are part of efforts to strengthen the quality of education and bring consistency in student evaluation.

Results Expected in March

After the completion of all papers, answer sheets will be evaluated centrally. The results are expected to be announced in March 2026. Schools will then guide students regarding promotion to the next class and provide academic support where required.
