Law School Admission Test (LSAT) India 2025

Purpose

The LSAT India is a standardized test designed to assess critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and reading comprehension skills, which are essential for success in law school.

Conducting Authority

The exam is conducted by Pearson VUE on behalf of the Law School Admission Council (LSAC).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed their 10+2 level or equivalent exams like AISSCE/ IB/ ICSE/ State Board etc.
  • Residency: Candidates from any country can take the LSAT India.
  • Age Limit: There is no specific upper age limit for appearing in the LSAT India.
  • Number of Attempts: Candidates can attempt the exam up to five times in a two-year period.

Exam Schedule

  • Notification Release: Expected in the 1st week of August 2024
  • Application Form Release: Expected in the 1st week of August 2024
  • Last Date to Apply: Expected in the 3rd week of September 2024
  • Correction Window: Expected in the 2nd week of October 2024
  • Admit Card Availability: Expected in the 1st week of November 2024
  • Exam Dates: January 15, 2025 (international), February 7, 2025, April 10, 2025, June 4, 2025
  • Result Declaration: Expected within 3-4 weeks after each test date
  • Counselling and Seat Allocation: Varies by law school

Application Process

  1. Visit the Official Website: Go to the LSAC official website (lsac.org).
  2. Register: Complete the registration process by entering the required details.
  3. Fill the Application Form: Fill out the LSAT application form and upload scanned documents.
  4. Pay the Application Fee: Pay the fee using credit/debit cards or net banking.
  5. Submit the Form: Submit the application form and print a hard copy for future reference.

  • Fee Waivers: Available for eligible candidates

Exam Pattern

  • Mode: Paper-based (offline) and digital (remote proctored)
  • Duration: 3 hours (180 minutes)
  • Total Questions: 100-150 questions
  • Total Marks: 180-200 marks
  • Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Logical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and Analytical Reasoning
  • Medium: English

Syllabus

The syllabus is divided into four sections:

Reading Comprehension

  • Analyzing passages and answering questions based on them

Logical Reasoning

  • Analyzing arguments and identifying logical flaws

Analytical Reasoning

  • Solving problems involving the organization of information

Writing Sample

  • Writing an essay on a given topic
