Kidwise Launches Innovative Online Platform for Parents of School-kids

Kidwise has recently launched a platform (www.kidwise.in) for parents of school-going kids, which enables them to connect with each other, and with various service providers including schools, subject tutors, hobby classes, sports coaches, etc. in their neighbourhood. This service is initially available in Pune, and shall be rolled out to other cities soon.

Kidwise has a community of parents & service providers, offering a place for parents to seek and give advice, share experiences, opinions, reviews & recommendations. There are groups which parents can join and participate in, based on the kids’ age and interests.

There are also listings which enable the service providers to showcase their capability, experience, contacts & reviews, and to acquire visibility for parents who are searching for providers in their area. The feedback by parents is very useful to help other parents to choose the best options for their kids, and Kidwise uses a mix of human moderation and technology to keep reviews genuine & unbiased.

To enhance their parenting quotient, Kidwise has an assortment of articles on various topics relevant to such parents, to learn from experts & the knowledge of other parents

For service providers, particularly individuals and small entrepreneurs who are looking for ways to grow their classes, activities, or services, Kidwise empowers them to reach out to a targeted audience of parents across the city. For small service providers, Kidwise offers completely free listings, with no fees, no commissions or charges per lead. Premium listings, with additional features, are better suited for schools and centres having multiple branches. As an initial offer, all Premium listings are also available free for the first 3 months.

Ritu Mathur, Co-founder, Kidwise, says – “Parents always want to give the best to their kids, and with so many choices for learning & recreation, it is often a challenge to find & decide on the best option. On one hand, Kidwise intends to solve the problem of finding, evaluating and getting reviews of various types of service providers from schools to classes to activities to special needs. On the other, it will empower the thousands of micro-entrepreneurs, a large majority being women, who run tuitions, classes etc, by enabling them to reach out and connect with parents in their neighbourhoods and beyond, and to grow their businesses.”

“While there are several parenting websites & communities, most of these focus on new Moms & babies, and almost all completely exclude 50% of parents – Dads! Also, there are several listing sites for tutors etc, but those mostly lack the crucial element of references & reviews which a community provides, as there is little structured information to choose between options. Social apps are the most popular but they lack the structure, and ease of searching, filtering etc. So with Kidwise, the intent is to bring these elements together, for a fantastic experience, and there are several exciting technology initiatives in the pipeline to deliver that,” says Vivek Mathur, Co-founder.

The initial response from both parents and service providers has been very encouraging, and Kidwise is using the feedback and usage behaviour data to refine the platform before rollout to other cities, planned for later this year.

About Kidwise:
