Bengaluru, January 21, 2025 – The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has launched its first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) in Hindi, a significant step towards expanding access to quality management education. Titled “From Theory to Practice: Implementing ESG and Sustainability in Business,” the 12-week course commenced on January 24, 2025, and is hosted on the government-backed online learning platform, SWAYAM.
“This initiative reflects IIMB’s commitment to making world-class management education accessible to a wider audience,” said Dr. Aditya Gupta, COO of the TCI-IIMB Supply Chain Sustainability Lab. “We believe that this Hindi MOOC will empower individuals and organizations across India with the knowledge and skills necessary to integrate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into their business strategies.”
The course, designed for MBA and BBA students, working professionals, and executives, aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical implementation of ESG and sustainability in business. It will feature interactive lectures, video lessons, quizzes, assignments, and discussion forums, providing a comprehensive learning experience.
IIMB’s foray into the MOOC space through SWAYAM aligns with the government’s efforts to democratize education and promote lifelong learning. By offering high-quality online courses in Hindi, IIMB aims to reach a larger segment of the Indian population and contribute to the nation’s sustainable development goals.
