Bengaluru, November 17, 2025 – Epson India has officially launched an ambitious nationwide Robotics Training Program aimed at bridging the gap between academic learning and industry-ready skills in robotics and automation. Announced today, the initiative targets engineering students across the country and combines hands-on training, internships, and the establishment of state-of-the-art on-campus robotics labs.
A Three-Pillar Approach to Skill Development
The program is built on three core components designed to give students real-world exposure:
- Internships at Epson’s Bengaluru Solution Center
Selected students will get the opportunity to work alongside Epson’s robotics experts at its advanced Solution Center in Bengaluru. Interns will engage with Epson’s industry-leading SCARA and 6-axis robots, automation solutions, and real industrial applications ranging from electronics assembly to automotive manufacturing. - On-Campus Epson Robotics Labs
Epson will set up fully equipped robotics laboratories at select engineering colleges across India. These labs will feature Epson’s latest robotic arms, vision systems, and RC+ development software, enabling students to design, program, and test automation solutions throughout their academic journey. - Structured Training Curriculum
A comprehensive syllabus co-developed by Epson’s technical specialists and academic partners will cover robot kinematics, programming (using Epson RC+ and SPEL+ languages), machine vision integration, force sensing, and Industry 4.0 concepts.
Why This Matters Now
India is rapidly emerging as a global hub for electronics manufacturing, electric vehicles, and advanced automation. Yet, industry reports consistently highlight a shortage of talent proficient in industrial robotics. Epson’s initiative directly addresses this gap by producing “Day 1 ready” engineers who can step straight into high-demand roles in manufacturing, R&D, and system integration.
Speaking at the launch event, Mr. Tosh Wangh, Director – Robotics, Epson India, said:
“Robotics is no longer a future technology—it is the backbone of modern manufacturing today. Through this program, we want to democratize access to world-class robotics training and help India build a workforce that can lead the fourth industrial revolution.”
Who Can Participate?
The program is open to students pursuing B.Tech/B.E. in the following branches:
- Electronics & Communication Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mechatronics
- Electrical Engineering
- Computer Science (with interest in automation)
Colleges interested in hosting an Epson Robotics Lab or nominating students for internships can reach out through the official program portal (to be launched at www.epson.co.in/robotics-training).
A Long-Term Commitment
This initiative is not a one-time event. Epson has committed to expanding the program year-on-year, adding more partner colleges, increasing internship seats, and continuously updating the curriculum to reflect the latest advancements in robotics and AI integration.
As India races toward its goal of becoming a $1 trillion manufacturing economy by 2030, programs like Epson’s Robotics Training Initiative will play a pivotal role in building the skilled workforce needed to get there.
