Common University Entrance Test (CUET) – Postgraduate (PG)

Purpose

The CUET (PG) is conducted to provide admissions to various postgraduate programs at central universities and other participating institutions across India. The exam aims to assess the academic aptitude and skills of candidates to ensure a fair selection process for admissions.

Conducting Authority

The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), an autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
  • Appearing Candidates: Candidates appearing for the final year of their Bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply.

Exam Schedule/Important Dates

  • Online Application Form Release: 2nd January 2025
  • Last Date to Submit Application: 2nd February 2025
  • Correction Facility: 3rd – 5th February 2025
  • Release of Admit Card: 1st week of March 2025
  • CUET PG Exam Date: 13th March – 31st March 2025
  • Answer Key Release: 3rd week of March 2025
  • CUET PG Results: 4th week of March 2025

Application Process

  1. Online Application: Candidates need to fill out the online application form available on the official NTA website.
  2. Submission: Submit the filled application form along with the required documents and pay the application fee.
  3. Correction Facility: Make necessary corrections during the correction window.
  4. Admit Card: Download the admit card after it is released.

Application Fee

The application fee varies based on the course and category of the candidate. It is typically around INR 500-1000.

Exam Pattern

  • Mode: The exam is conducted in a hybrid mode (Pen & Paper/CBT).
  • Structure: The exam consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) divided into three sections:
    • Section IA: 13 languages (Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu)
    • Section IB: 20 languages (French, Spanish, German, Nepali, Persian, Italian, Arabic, Sindhi, Kashmiri, Konkani, Bodo, Dogri, Maithili, Manipuri, Santhali, Tibetan, Japanese, Russian, Chinese, Sanskrit)
    • Section II: 29 domain-specific subjects
    • Section III: General Test
