A grand Tech Park wide Fitness event was launched by Columbia Asia Hospital Sarjapur Road for the techies at Embassy Tech Village recently. ‘The ETV Fitness Challenge’ is a month-long fitness challenge to encourage employees from MNC’s and various corporates in the tech park to focus on their fitness regime, burn extra kilos and lose weight.
The event witnessed participation of over 200 employees on the launch day from over 20 different corporates, who pre-registered themselves for the fitness challenge and many more who went for an on-spot registration during the kick off.
The event was inaugurated by Ms. Manisha Kumar, General Manager, Columbia Asia Hospital Sarjapur Road and Dr. Nataraj HM, Consultant Senior Orthopaedic, Columbia Asia Hospital Sarjapur Road, who spoke on issues like the importance of preventive healthcare. He urged the techies to gear up and get on with the ‘one-month challenge’ and spoke on the do’s and don’ts that are to be practiced.
With the launch of the event, the registered teams had to input their current weight stat, which would be rerecorded on completing a month’s time. At the completion of one month from the start, the stats would be rerecorded and teams losing maximum weight and gaining maximum fitness will win.
Ms. Manisha Kumar, General Manager at Columbia Asia Hospital, Sarjapur Road said: “We are extremely delighted to be conducting this fitness event for the corporate employees at Embassy tech village. Given the sharp increase in lifestyle diseases, preventive healthcare is deemed to be of utmost importance today. This event is our effort and another step towards our commitment to spread the message and create awareness in the community about a healthier lifestyle and prevention of diseases. We are closely associated with Embassy Tech Village through our daily clinic and are happy to see overwhelming response and participation to our challenge.”
During this one-month long fitness event, Columbia Asia Hospital Sarjapur Road will be conducting an array of activities hosting fitness and preventive health measures involving diet consultation and physio sessions from experts. World-class sessions on mindfulness and ergonomics would be arranged at the Columbia Asia Hospital clinic inside the Embassy Tech Village for all the participants.
The participants were handed goodie bags, and encouraged to take selfie clicks, and played fun games and challenges on stage.
