BITS Admission Test (BITSAT) 2025

Purpose

The BITS Admission Test (BITSAT) is an entrance exam conducted for admissions to undergraduate programs in engineering, pharmacy, and science at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad.

Conducting Authority

The exam is conducted by BITS Pilani.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed or be appearing for the 12th standard (or equivalent) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as subjects.
  • Minimum Marks: General Merit candidates need at least 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics combined (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
  • Individual Subjects: Candidates must have individually passed Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • Residency: Candidates must be Indian nationals.
  • Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for BITSAT.

Exam Schedule

  • Registration: Begins on January 21, 2025, and ends on April 18, 2025.
  • Mock Test: Available from February 17, 2025.
  • Exam Dates:
    • Session 1: May 26 to May 30, 2025
    • Session 2: June 22 to June 26, 2025
  • Admit Card: Available from May 15, 2025, to the exam date.
  • Result: Announced on June 30, 2025.

Application Process

  1. Visit the Official Website: Go to the BITS website (bitsadmission.com).
  2. Register: Complete the registration process by entering the required details.
  3. Fill the Application Form: Fill out the BITSAT application form and upload scanned documents.
  4. Pay the Application Fee: Pay the fee using credit/debit cards or net banking.
  5. Submit the Form: Submit the application form and print a hard copy for future reference.

Application Fee

  • Male Candidates: ₹3,400 for one session, ₹5,400 for both sessions
  • Female and Transgender Candidates: ₹2,900 for one session, ₹4,400 for both sessions
  • Candidates from Dubai: ₹7,150 for one session, ₹9,150 for both sessions

Exam Pattern

  • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Total Questions: 130 multiple-choice questions
  • Question Type: Physics (30 questions), Chemistry (30 questions), English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning (30 questions), Mathematics/Biology (40 questions)
  • Scoring: Each correct answer is awarded 3 marks, with a penalty of -1 mark for incorrect answers. No marks are given for unanswered questions.
  • Medium: English
  • Bonus Questions: If a candidate answers all 130 questions, they can attempt 12 additional questions for extra marks.
