In response to the ongoing cold wave, the Bihar government has revised school timings in Patna. Classes for all government and private schools, including pre-schools and anganwadi centers, will now be held from 9 AM to 4 PM from January 2 to January 6, 2025.
The decision comes as temperatures in Bihar have dropped significantly, with Dehri and Banka recording the lowest temperature of 4.4°C. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that minimum temperatures across Bihar will remain between 6-11°C over the next few days.
The revised schedule aims to protect students from the harsh weather conditions and ensure their well-being. Special classes and exams for pre-board and board exam preparation will continue as scheduled, unaffected by the new directive3.
Authorities have urged residents to take necessary precautions to stay safe during the cold wave.
