The Class 12 (Intermediate) annual examinations conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board concluded on February 13, marking the end of the statewide examination process that began earlier this month. Exams were held at hundreds of centres across Bihar with lakhs of students appearing from science, commerce, and arts streams.
Officials reported that the examinations were conducted largely in an orderly manner under strict surveillance and security arrangements.
During the examination period, authorities took firm action against malpractice:
The board reiterated that zero tolerance was being followed to maintain the credibility of the examination system.
In addition to expulsions, 14 impersonators were arrested while attempting to write the exam on behalf of registered candidates. These individuals were caught during identity verification and surprise inspections conducted by district administrations and special monitoring teams.
Legal action has been initiated against those involved, and further investigations are underway to identify any organized networks behind impersonation attempts.
With the Class 12 examinations now complete, the board is preparing to begin the evaluation of answer scripts later this month. Special instructions have been issued to evaluators to ensure timely and transparent assessment so that results can be declared as per schedule.
Meanwhile, the Class 10 (Matric) examinations are set to be conducted from February 17 to February 25 across Bihar. Authorities have announced that similar strict measures will be enforced, including biometric verification, CCTV surveillance, and deployment of flying squads to prevent cheating and impersonation.
Students have been advised to reach examination centres on time and strictly follow all guidelines issued by the board.
The Bihar School Examination Board has stated that maintaining discipline and fairness remains its top priority. Officials warned that any form of malpractice would attract immediate expulsion and legal consequences, stressing that honest candidates should not be disadvantaged by unfair practices.
