AP Inter Results 2025: Andhra Pradesh Board Announces 1st and 2nd Year Results with Record Pass Percentages

Visakhapatnam, April 12, 2025 – The Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh (BIEAP) officially declared the AP Intermediate Public Examination (IPE) Results for 2025 today at 11:00 AM, marking a significant milestone for over 7.5 lakh students who appeared for the 1st and 2nd year examinations. The results, announced through a press conference led by Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh, showcased a remarkable improvement in pass percentages, with 70% of 1st-year students and 83% of 2nd-year students clearing the exams, the highest in the past decade.

Key Highlights of AP Inter Results 2025

The AP Inter 1st and 2nd Year examinations were conducted in March 2025, with the 1st-year exams held from March 1 to March 19 and the 2nd-year exams from March 3 to March 20. Practical examinations for general and vocational courses took place in February, ensuring a smooth evaluation process. This year, a total of 422,030 candidates appeared for the 2nd-year exams, of whom 351,521 passed, while 38,553 candidates sat for the 1st-year exams, with 23,991 passing. For vocational courses, the pass percentages stood at 62% for the 1st year and 77% for the 2nd year.

The overall pass percentages reflect a significant leap from previous years:

  • 1st Year (Class 11): 70% pass rate, up from 67% in 2024.
  • 2nd Year (Class 12): 83% pass rate, a notable increase from 78% in 2024.

Minister Nara Lokesh attributed the improved performance to reforms in the education system, including digital initiatives like the distribution of hall tickets and results via WhatsApp, enhanced teacher training, and a focus on reducing student stress. “This year’s results are a testament to the hard work of our students and the dedication of our educators. We’ve embraced technology to make processes seamless and are committed to further elevating Andhra Pradesh’s education standards,” he stated.

Toppers and District-Wise Performance

While the official toppers’ list is yet to be released, preliminary reports suggest outstanding performances across districts, with Krishna, Guntur, and Visakhapatnam leading in pass percentages. The board will soon announce the names of state and district toppers, along with gender-wise and stream-wise (MPC, BiPC, CEC, etc.) performance data. Last year, students from Krishna district dominated the toppers’ list, and similar trends are expected this year.

The board also highlighted gender-wise performance, noting that girls outperformed boys in both years, continuing a trend observed in previous examinations. Detailed statistics, including grade-wise results and subject-wise pass percentages, will be published on the official website within the next week.

Grading System and Passing Criteria

The AP Inter exams follow a structured grading system based on marks:

  • A1: 91-100 (Outstanding)
  • A2: 81-90 (Excellent)
  • B: 71-80 (Very Good)
  • C: 61-70 (Good)
  • D: 35-60 (Pass)
  • F: Below 35 (Fail)

To pass, students must secure at least 35% marks in each subject, both in theory and practical exams. Those who fail in one or two subjects can appear for supplementary exams, scheduled from May 12 to May 20, 2025, in two sessions daily. Details regarding supplementary exam applications will be released soon.

Students dissatisfied with their results can apply for re-verification (₹1,300 per subject) or re-counting (₹260 per subject) through the official website. Revaluation results are expected in May or June 2025.

Innovations and Future Plans

This year, BIEAP introduced several student-friendly measures, including the WhatsApp-based result distribution system, which received widespread appreciation for its accessibility. The board also plans to phase out 1st-year examinations in the coming years to reduce academic pressure, focusing solely on 2nd-year exams for final certification, as announced earlier this year. However, this change will not affect the 2025 batch.

Education Minister Lokesh emphasized the board’s commitment to digital transformation, stating, “From hall tickets to results, we’ve ensured students can access everything at their fingertips. Our goal is to make Andhra Pradesh a hub for quality education, preparing students for competitive exams and higher education.”

Student and Parent Reactions

The announcement of the results sparked celebrations across the state, with students expressing relief and joy. Priya, a 2nd-year student from Vijayawada, shared, “I was nervous, but checking my results on WhatsApp was so easy, and I scored 92%! I’m thrilled.” Parents also praised the board’s transparency and timely result declaration. However, some students who didn’t meet expectations are gearing up for supplementary exams, with coaching centers already announcing crash courses.

What’s Next for Students?

For 2nd-year students, the results pave the way for higher education, with many preparing for entrance exams like AP EAPCET 2025 for engineering, agriculture, and pharmacy courses. The registration window for AP EAPCET opened recently, and students are advised to check cets.apsche.ap.gov.in for details. 1st-year students will advance to their 2nd year, with some opting for early preparation for competitive exams.

The AP Inter Results 2025 have set a high benchmark for academic excellence in Andhra Pradesh, reflecting the state’s efforts to enhance its education ecosystem. As students celebrate their achievements and plan their next steps, the BIEAP continues to innovate, ensuring a brighter future for the state’s youth.
