Chennai, March 17, 2021: AISECT which is India’s leading Social Enterprise working in the area of skill development, has partnered with Samagra Shiksha, Tamil Nadu to provide Vocational Education to more than 2500 students in the allotted 46 Schools for the year 2020-21. AISECT has come on-board with Samagra Shiksha for the implementation of Centrally Sponsored Scheme for the Vocationalization of School Education under National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) in the state of Tamil Nadu.
Set to commence from February 2021, the Vocational Education will be conducted across two trades namely Agriculture and Electronic & Hardware for the job roles such as Solanaceous Crop Cultivator and Field Technician- Other home appliances. Under the Vocational Education Scheme, work will be allocated to vocational training providers (VTPs) for conducting the vocational education for the session of 2020-2021. As per the rule of the scheme, eligible training providers are selected and assigned work at respective schools.
Talking about the partnership, Mr Siddharth Chaturvedi, Executive Vice President, AISECT Group said, “Both AISECT and Samagra Shiksha plan to boost the efforts of imparting vocational education to school students and provide them with the necessary skills in order to help them get ready for the industry. This step will also facilitate the youth of the country to build a strong economy in the future. By carrying out this project in Tamil Nadu, we hope to empower the students of the State and encourage them with every possible means. AISECT also expects to expand its network even more in Tamil Nadu to develop the requisite skills for the betterment of the students and country.”
Approved school list for Agriculture trade for the year 2020-21 includes GHSS Alandurai (Coimbatore), GGHSS Papparapatti (Dharmapuri), GHSS Begarahalli (Dharmapuri), GHSS Kovilampakkam (Kancheepuram) among others. Approved school list for Electronics and Hardware Trade includes GHSS Meensurti (Ariyalur), AAMG GHSS, Annur (Coimbatore), Nehruji MEM HSS, Dindigul (Dindigul) and others.
AISECT aims to enhance the skill of the students towards the specified trade. Mobilisation camp, short film about the importance of Vocational Education and KVY has been held to make students aware about the programme. AISECT will provide the students with benefits such as recruiting good vocational
trainers and offering online MOOC content. Other services such as Guest Lecture, Industrial Visit, Field Visits, OJT and Placement will also be offered to empower the students. These students will be assessed on the basis of daily reports, monthly reports, annual reports and SSC assessments. All the candidates will receive certificates after completion of the Vocational Education. The Level 3 students will receive internship training for 80 hours. Apart from this initiative, AISECT has previously worked with more than 59 schools and imparting training to 2000+ school students in Tamil Nadu and more than 500 candidates have been trained under PMKVY (Pradhan MantriKaushalVikasYojana).Till date AISECT has deployed 1,348 trainers across various Indian states who have trained over 1,00,000 students in several sectors and job roles. AISECT’s Vocational Training Programme (VTP) is the first and the only VTP to reach 100 Schools in Tamilnadu.
