Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT)

The Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) is an entrance exam conducted for admission to the BArch (Bachelor of Architecture) programs at IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, and IIT (BHU) Varanasi. It is specifically for candidates who have qualified the JEE Advanced exam.

Purpose

The AAT assesses candidates’ aptitude for architecture through various tests that evaluate their drawing skills, imagination, and aesthetic sensitivity.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates must have qualified the JEE Advanced exam.
  • Age Requirement: Candidates must have been born on or after October 01, 1999.
  • Class 12th Exam: Candidates must have appeared in the class 12th examination.

Exam Pattern

  • Duration: The exam lasts for 3 hours.
  • Mode: It is conducted in offline (pen and paper-based) mode.
  • Sections: The exam includes sections on Freehand Drawing, Geometrical Drawing, Three-Dimensional Perception, Imagination and Aesthetic Sensitivity, and Architectural Awareness.

  • Registration: The registration window usually opens in June and closes a few days before the exam.
