New Delhi, September 20, 2026: The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) September 2026 Computer-Based Test (CBT) was conducted today, September 20, across test centres in India. The examination was conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) for candidates seeking admission to MBA and allied management programmes.
The September CBT marks the second major MAT mode of the month. The Paper-Based Test (PBT) was conducted earlier on September 13, while the CBT was scheduled for September 20. AIMA’s official schedule confirms that the CBT application deadline was September 14 and admit cards became available from September 17.

MAT September 2026 CBT: Exam Pattern
The MAT examination consists of 150 questions divided across five sections, with candidates given 120 minutes to complete the test. The sections are:
- Language Comprehension
- Intelligence and Critical Reasoning
- Mathematical Skills
- Data Analysis and Sufficiency
- Economic and Business Environment

MAT 2026 CBT Conducted Across Multiple Cities
The September CBT was conducted across a broad network of examination cities, including Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mysuru, Mangaluru, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh and other locations. AIMA’s test-city list includes numerous centres across India.
The examination is particularly relevant to MBA and PGDM aspirants because MAT scores are accepted by more than 600 business schools across India, according to AIMA.
Candidates Share Initial Reactions
Initial exam analysis published after the CBT began indicates that some candidates described the paper as generally manageable, although certain questions were reported to be time-consuming. These are early candidate reactions rather than an official assessment of the examination’s difficulty.

When Will MAT September 2026 Results Be Released?
According to AIMA’s official schedule, MAT September 2026 scores are expected to become available by the last week of September 2026. Candidates will be able to download their scorecards through the MAT website using their applicant dashboard.
The MAT score can subsequently be used by candidates while applying to participating management institutes. AIMA advises candidates to select the institutes to which they have applied or intend to apply during the relevant process.
MAT December 2026 Session
With the September CBT now conducted, attention will shift to the December 2026 MAT session. The dates for the December session are expected to be announced separately by AIMA.
