The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released its tentative examination calendar covering December 2026 to March 2027, giving students and institutions an early view of several major national-level examinations. The calendar includes UGC-NET, Joint CSIR-UGC NET, JEE Main 2027 Session 1, NIFT Entrance Examination, CMAT and CUET PG 2027, among other tests.
UGC-NET December 2026 from December 14
According to the NTA calendar, the UGC-NET December 2026 examination is scheduled to be conducted from December 14 to 19, 2026. December 20 and 21 have been kept as buffer dates.
The Joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2026 examination is scheduled for December 20 and 21, 2026. These examinations are important for candidates pursuing eligibility for teaching, research and fellowship opportunities.
JEE Main 2027 Session 1 in January
Engineering aspirants will have JEE Main 2027 Session 1 as one of the major examinations in the January schedule.
NTA has proposed the following dates:
- January 22–24, 2027
- January 28–30, 2027
- January 31, 2027 – Buffer date
The examination schedule covers six main examination days, with January 31 reserved as a buffer date. The detailed information bulletin and application notification will provide further instructions for candidates.
NIFT, SHRESHTA and Sainik Schools examinations
The January calendar also includes several other entrance examinations.
The NIFT Entrance Examination and SHRESHTA (NETS) examination are both scheduled for January 10, 2027. The All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) is proposed for January 31, 2027. The Army Cadets College examination is scheduled for January 4.
CMAT 2027 scheduled for February 7
Management aspirants can expect the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2027 on February 7, 2027, according to the tentative calendar.
The NITTT Part 1 examination is scheduled for February 26 and 27, 2027.
CUET PG 2027 to be held in March
The Common University Entrance Test (Postgraduate) – CUET PG 2027 will be conducted across multiple dates in March.
The proposed examination dates are:
- March 1–5, 2027
- March 8, 2027
- March 12–20, 2027
- March 24–25, 2027
- March 30–31 – Buffer dates
The March schedule therefore spans multiple examination days to accommodate the large number of candidates and subjects covered by CUET PG.

Candidates Advised to Follow Official NTA Updates
NTA has described the calendar as tentative and stated that examination dates may be revised because of administrative, academic, statutory, logistical or other unforeseen circumstances. Candidates should therefore treat the calendar as an advance planning document and wait for individual examination notifications, application forms and detailed information bulletins.
