New Delhi, September 16, 2026: MBA aspirants who have not yet registered for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026 have been given additional time to complete their applications. The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) have extended the CAT 2026 registration deadline to September 22, 2026, at 5 PM.
The earlier deadline was September 15. The extension gives prospective candidates another week to submit their applications, pay the required fee and complete the registration process. IIM Indore is conducting CAT 2026.

CAT 2026 Registration: Revised Deadline
According to the revised schedule, candidates can now submit their CAT 2026 applications until September 22 at 5 PM. The IIMs have indicated that candidates should not wait until the final hours to complete registration because of the possibility of heavy traffic or technical issues.

CAT 2026 Exam Date
CAT 2026 is scheduled to be conducted on November 29, 2026, in three sessions. IIM Indore is the organising institute for this year’s examination.
The computer-based examination will have three sections:
- Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
- Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR)
- Quantitative Ability (QA)
The total examination duration is 120 minutes, with candidates allotted 40 minutes for each section. Candidates will not be permitted to move between sections during the examination.
CAT 2026 Test Cities
The examination is expected to be conducted in approximately 170 cities across India. Candidates can indicate up to five preferred test cities while filling out the application form.
The examination authority will try to allot a centre in one of the preferred cities. However, candidates may be allotted a centre near their preferred locations if demand is high in a particular area. Once a test centre has been allotted, candidates will not be permitted to change it.
CAT 2026 Application Edit Window
Candidates who successfully complete registration and pay the application fee will get a short opportunity to make certain corrections after registration closes.
The edit facility will be restricted to:
- Photograph
- Signature
- Test city preferences
Other information submitted in the application form will not be available for editing during this window.
