The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has begun the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations today, 18 February 2026. The exams will continue until 12 March 2026, marking one of the largest examination exercises in the country, with more than 53 million students registered across the state.

Record Number of Students Appear for Exams

This year’s board examinations have witnessed an unprecedented scale, with lakhs of students appearing daily from government and private schools. Authorities have set up thousands of examination centres across urban and rural districts to manage the massive turnout efficiently.

Education officials said the smooth conduct of the first day’s papers reflects months of logistical planning and coordination between district administrations and school authorities.

Stringent Security Measures to Ensure Transparency

The UPMSP has implemented strict surveillance measures to prevent malpractice and ensure fairness. All examination centres are equipped with CCTV cameras and live webcasting systems. Monitoring teams at district and state levels are tracking activities in real time through central control rooms.

Flying squads have also been deployed to conduct surprise inspections. Any centre found violating examination norms faces immediate action, including cancellation of papers and withdrawal of centre status.

Control Rooms Set Up Across Districts

Dedicated control rooms are operational in every district to address student complaints and manage emergencies. These centres are handling queries related to question papers, attendance issues, and technical problems in surveillance systems.

Officials said the control rooms would remain functional throughout the examination period to ensure uninterrupted communication between centres and the board headquarters.

Focus on Student Safety and Discipline

Authorities have enforced strict entry rules at examination centres. Students must carry valid admit cards and arrive well before reporting time. Prohibited items such as mobile phones, smart watches, and electronic gadgets are banned inside exam halls.

Police personnel and local administration teams have been deployed near sensitive centres to maintain law and order and avoid crowding.

Exams to Conclude on 12 March

The Class 10 and Class 12 examinations will conclude on 12 March 2026. Evaluation of answer sheets is expected to begin soon after, with results likely to be announced within the scheduled academic timeline.

UPMSP officials stated that the board aims to conduct the examinations in a transparent and stress-free environment, ensuring that students’ performance reflects merit and integrity.
