IIM CAT 2025 Registration Deadline Extended to September 20

Kozhikode, September 13, 2025 – The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode has announced an extension of the registration deadline for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025, providing aspiring MBA candidates additional time to apply. The new deadline is now September 20, 2025, at 5:00 PM IST, extending the original cutoff of September 13, 2025. Candidates can submit their applications online via the official website, iimcat.ac.in.

Exam Overview

The CAT 2025 examination, a gateway to MBA and postgraduate management programs at IIMs and over 1,000 other business schools across India, is scheduled for November 30, 2025. The exam will be conducted in three sessions across more than 170 cities, with candidates able to select up to five preferred test cities during registration. Admit cards will be available for download starting November 5, 2025, and results are expected in January 2026.

Registration Details

  • Registration Fee: ₹1,300 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates; ₹2,600 for all other candidates.
  • Required Documents: SC, ST, and PwD candidates must upload relevant certificates during registration. All applicants should have a valid email ID, mobile number, and other identification proofs ready.

Exam Structure

The computer-based test will assess candidates in three sections:

  • Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
  • Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR)
  • Quantitative Ability (QA)

Application Process

Candidates can apply by visiting iimcat.ac.in, clicking on “New Candidate Registration,” and following the steps to complete the form and payment. A short edit window will be available post-registration for limited changes.

Official Statement

PN Ram Kumar, CAT 2025 Convener, stated, “To accommodate the significant volume of requests from MBA aspirants, we have decided to extend the application deadline for CAT 2025. This extension will provide all interested candidates with an adequate opportunity to complete their applications.”

Application Volume and Advice

With an estimated 3.3–3.4 lakh applicants expected this year, based on last year’s 3.29 lakh registrations, IIM Kozhikode urges candidates to complete their applications early to avoid last-minute technical issues. The institute also advises downloading and printing the registration confirmation page for future reference.
