Kolkata, August 23, 2025 – The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has announced the results of the WBJEE 2025 examination on August 22, 2025, after a delay due to legal complications. Candidates who appeared for the exam on April 27, 2025, can now access their rank cards and the final answer key on the official websites, wbjeeb.nic.in and wbjeeb.in. The results pave the way for admissions to undergraduate engineering, technology, pharmacy, and architecture courses in West Bengal’s state-run and state-aided universities.
Legal Hurdles and Resolution
The release of the WBJEE 2025 results faced an unprecedented delay due to a Calcutta High Court directive. Initially expected on August 7, the results were postponed following an order from Justice Kausik Chanda, mandating a revised merit list to incorporate a 7% reservation for 66 Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories recognized by the West Bengal Backward Classes Department before 2010. To comply, the WBJEEB opened a window from August 18 to August 21 for candidates from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and OBC categories to upload their caste certificates, ensuring compliance with the court’s ruling. The Supreme Court’s intervention on August 22, staying the Calcutta High Court’s order to scrap the existing merit list, cleared the final hurdle for the result announcement.

Aniruddha Chakrabarti from Don Bosco School, Park Circus, secured the top rank in WBJEE 2025.
