The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a robust psycho-social counselling initiative for Class X and XII students to help them navigate the stress of board exams. This initiative, which has been running for over 25 years, will be available in two phases: before and during the exams, and after the results are declared.
Counseling Period:
- Services will be available from February 1st, 2025, to April 4th, 2025, aligning with the lead-up to the board exams scheduled to start on February 15th, 2025.
Support Services Offered:
- 24/7 Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS): A toll-free number (1800-11-8004) will provide round-the-clock access to tips on stress management, time management, FAQs, and CBSE contact information in both Hindi and English.
- Tele-Counseling Services: A team of 66 trained professionals, including principals, counselors, special educators, and psychologists, will be available for one-on-one sessions from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Saturday. Counselors will be based in India, with some connecting from Nepal, Japan, Qatar, Oman, and the UAE.
- Podcast/Audio-Visual Content: Bilingual resources covering stress management, preparation strategies, and mental well-being will be available on the CBSE website.
