West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) 2025

Purpose

The WBJEE is an entrance exam conducted for admissions to undergraduate courses in engineering, technology, pharmacy, and architecture in various universities, government colleges, and self-financing engineering and technological institutes in West Bengal.

Conducting Authority

The exam is conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed or be appearing for the 12th standard (or equivalent) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as subjects.
  • Minimum Marks: General Merit candidates need at least 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics combined (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
  • Individual Subjects: Candidates must have individually passed Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • Residency: Candidates must be Indian nationals or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI).
  • Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for most courses, but it is 25 years for the Marine Engineering course.
  • Minimum Age: Candidates must be at least 17 years old as of December 31, 2025.

Exam Schedule

  • Registration: Begins on January 22, 2025, and ends on February 23, 2025.
  • Mock Test: Available from February 17, 2025.
  • Exam Dates: The exam will be held on April 27, 2025.
  • Admit Card: Available from April 17, 2025, to April 27, 2025.
  • Result: Announced on May 24, 2025.

Application Process

  1. Visit the Official Website: Go to the WBJEEB website (wbjeeb.nic.in).
  2. Register: Complete the registration process by entering the required details.
  3. Fill the Application Form: Fill out the WBJEE application form and upload scanned documents.
  4. Pay the Application Fee: Pay the fee using credit/debit cards or net banking.
  5. Submit the Form: Submit the application form and print a hard copy for future reference.

Application Fee

  • General Male Candidates: ₹500
  • General Female Candidates: ₹400
  • Third-Gender Candidates: ₹300
  • SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, EWS, PwD, or TFW Candidates: ₹400 for males, ₹300 for females, and ₹200 for third-gender applicants

Exam Pattern

  • Mode: Pen-and-paper-based test (OMR-based)
  • Duration:
    • Paper I (Mathematics): 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
    • Paper II (Physics & Chemistry): 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
  • Total Marks: Each paper carries 100 marks.
  • Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (Objective)
  • Medium: English
