New Delhi, November 17, 2025 – The spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” came alive as the Ministry of Education formally inaugurated the two-day 24th National Integration Meet 2025 at the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) headquarters in Delhi on November 16. The vibrant event, which continues today, has brought together more than 331 talented students from rural backgrounds across the country to showcase India’s rich cultural diversity and strengthen the bonds of national unity.
Over 331 students – comprising 222 girls and 109 boys – representing various Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) participated in a spectacular display of cultural performances. From energetic folk and classical dances to thought-provoking theatre, soulful music recitals, and striking visual arts exhibitions, the young performers captivated audiences and demonstrated that talent knows no geographical boundaries.
The National Integration Meet, an annual flagship event of NVS, serves as more than just a cultural festival. It is a powerful medium for students from diverse linguistic, social, and regional backgrounds to interact, understand each other’s traditions, and forge lifelong friendships – embodying the true essence of national integration.
In his inaugural address, Secretary, School Education & Literacy, Shri Sanjay Kumar lauded Navodaya Vidyalayas for emerging as role models in implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He particularly highlighted NVS’s remarkable achievement of near-perfect gender parity in Class VI admissions, a significant milestone in ensuring equitable access to quality education for girls from rural and disadvantaged sections.
“Navodaya Vidyalayas are not just schools; they are instruments of social transformation and national integration,” Shri Kumar remarked. “The gender balance we see today in admissions and the confidence with which our girls are performing on this national stage reflect the inclusive vision of NEP 2020.”
As the Meet progresses into its second day on November 17, participants continue to enthrall audiences with region-specific art forms, collaborative performances, and interactive sessions that celebrate India’s unity in diversity. The event also provides students a rare opportunity to visit the national capital, interact with policymakers, and gain exposure that will inspire them for years to come.
In an era where urban-rural and gender divides still persist in many parts of the education ecosystem, the National Integration Meet stands as a shining example of what is possible when opportunity is democratised. With fully residential, free-of-cost, high-quality education reaching the remotest corners, and platforms like this Meet amplifying rural voices, Navodaya Vidyalayas are quietly scripting one of India’s most successful experiments in inclusive education.
As the curtains begin to draw on the 24th National Integration Meet 2025, one thing is clear: the future of a united, equitable, and culturally vibrant India rests safely in the hands – and the talented performances – of these young Navodaya students.
